About Us

Softball Australia is the national governing body for softball in Australia.

Many of our members have received recognition Softball Australia, the International Softball Federation and the Australian Government for the significant contributions they have made to the growth and success of softball across Australia.

Softball Australia is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by staff based in Melbourne, and supported by several volunteer Committees.

In conjunction with our member states, Softball Australia conduct National Championships each year at Under 17, Under 19, Under 23 and Open Age for both men and women.

Australia has achieved considerable success on the international stage winning World Championships at the Open Women, Open Men and Under 19 Men levels. All four teams are ranked in the top three in the world.

Softball Australia coaching programs are offered at various levels that include our Softball Community Coaching Program (SCCP) for beginner coaches and Levels 1, 2 and 3 which are accredited within the Australian Sports Commission National Coach Accreditation framework.

Jo is currently working for Softball Australia as the Participation Coordinator. Softball Australia’s participation programs which include Softball Batter Up (SBU) which is the national junior recruitment and retention program and the Softball Community Coaching Program (SCCP). The SCCP is the preferred training program for programs like SBU, Indigenous, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse softball programs.

Jo also manages Coach and Official softball accreditations within the Australian Sports Commission accreditation framework and is also responsible for the review and updating of the Softball Australia coach accreditation programs.

As a player Jo represented Victoria and Australia as a pitcher during the 1970’s and early 1980’s and has been a specialist coach of Victorian teams at Under 16, Under 19 and Under 23 age groups.
